summary: beautiful bianca can't date unless her sister, kat, does, so two of bianca's suitors convince the school badboy to woo kat. But of course, things don't go exactly as planned. (for the people in the movie, anyway. if you've seen a teen movie, i'm sure it goes how you planned. xD)
review: don't get me wrong, i still like this movie a lot. however, most of my like of this movie is due to nostalgia, i think. most of my dislike of this movie is due to having seen it (and movies remarkably like it) far too many times. i think one would be hard-pressed to find someone around my age who hasn't seen this movie (and movies like it) about ten million times. there's a certain formula that all of these sorts of movies fall into. when will people learn that when you accept money to woo someone, you will end up falling for them and the money-acceptance will come back to bite you in the butt? WHEN? perhaps the next generation of high schoolers will have learned from the mistakes of their foreparents (is that a word?) and not agree to these sorts of wacky bets.
on the plus side, heath ledger is a beautiful, wonderful dreamboat in this film. le dreamy sigh. <3 and even if it's completely impossible, i still secretly dream that some day someone will sing to me over an intercom.
